6.7 2018 delete kit

Kit had everything needed and more than I expected, it came with some nice tunes, i recommend the 5inch exhaust it doesn't have that bad of drone, smiles to the gallon for sure as im driving around. Thankyou diesel dudes for a simple delete kit. Im an electrician and finished the kit in roughly 12 hours. Exhaust was the hardest part. The tune was my favorite part haha. The ezlink doesn't come with the green wire anymore it has a different style.

The Diesel Dudes customer service has been amazing! I have been working with Tyson to help with any issues of questions I have had, and he has been super responsive and has always provide me with the answer I needed.
The purpose of this review is to help share some information with the community who are looking to install the full delete bundle on the 2016 6.7 Powerstroke. There is very limited information out there for these trucks. At least for what I could find.

My experience as a mechanic. I grew up building cars, however, I move into IT as a profession and really have not tackled a project this size on a newer vehicle in about 40 years, so I’m a bit rusty, and older for sure 😉

Time to completion: 26+ hours. The biggest time consumer was removing the DEF system / Exhaust system. A couple of reasons this took so long for me is: 1 Every exhaust bolt was completely rusted on, and all snaped off except for 3. Thank God I bot the full exhaust otherwise I would have been drilling out a lot of bolts. Two, getting two and figuring out how to disconnect all the sensors. The sensor connects/disconnects in different ways, so I had to figure out the secret code to get them to release. One taking wayyyyy to long to figure out.

Must do’s: One of my biggest concerns was snapping the bolts that attached the long pipe to the exhaust manifold. I found a few blog posts that recommended using penetrating oil and soaking overnight, applying heat to the Exhaust Manifold, or applying Penetrating oil for at least 7 days to allow it to soak in. Well, I took it further. I applied the Penetrating oil twice a day, once when cold and the other when hot. I hoped by doing this that the expansion and contraction would help soak the oil into the bolt. When I extracted the bolts with my 3/8s drive rachet, they both came out like butter. Never got tight when extracting. If one broke in the manifold I had ordered the PROMAXX Bolt repair kit from Amazon. I ordered from amazon due to their 30 day return policy. I DID NOT open the box after receiving the tool to ensure I could return it if I did not need it. I was going to buy directly from the company, but they have a 25% restocking charge and amazon has none. 25% of $500 dollars is a chunk.

Tools that made the job easier.
1. 500 Ft pound Impact gun. Without this, the job probably would have taken a bit longer to remove the exhaust.
2. Exhaust hanger removal tool
3. Propane Torch
4. Metric Crowfoot Flair nut wrench for the sensor that gets reinstalled into the manifold.
5. 3 ton jackstands
6. Heavy duty floor jack

Summary: All and all was a fun project for me! I would not go into this project thinking it will take 5-8 hours to complete, especially on a older truck with 115k miles.

I’m super stoked with the results! I bought this kit to hopefully increase gas mileage. My first test was my drive home from Minden NV to our RV park (Full time RVer’s) in the Sacramento valley. To my surprise, we averaged 21.5 miles to a gallon when normally it would be around 14-15 mpg. I hope this review helps people with their purchase and/install decisions.

Glad I did it, but not a flawless install

I waited a full month before writing this review to give proper feedback. Overall, I’m glad I did the delete, but my biggest complaint is the hardware—or lack thereof.

Incorrect O-Ring: As mentioned in Dark Horse videos/forums, the included coolant O-ring was indeed the wrong size. We forced it in with a little Vaseline, but after a 6-hour drive home, a persistent coolant leak developed. I ended up having to pay a mechanic $150 to pressure-test it, only to find the O-ring had twisted and failed.

Hardware Issues: The kit expects you to reuse old hardware for the block-off plates, but they didn't seat properly. We had to source correct-thread bolts ourselves to get a proper seal—proper bolts really should be included in the kit.

Software & Instructions: Downloading the software was confusing. While everything was present, there were no clear instructions on which file to select. We eventually figured it out after doing some sleuthing online.

Exhaust Install: Expect a tough install. Managing the clips and hangers is a challenge, but manageable. It took us about 7 hours total, including a few short breaks.

Bottom Line: For a $2,500 kit, Jake needs to include the correct O-rings and bolts. A few extra hardware pieces would elevate this from feeling like a garage project to a truly professional kit.

Diesal done it!

Easy simple transaction. They waited longer on my ECM serial than I ever did for them. I am two months away from installing but they don't care, they said let us know when your ready if you need anything.

Very happy with the quality of the parts and shipping speed. Where this company really shines is its customer service. Tyson specifically helped me with multiple random questions that I had regarding after install support. They were always quick to respond and extremely thorough in answering any and every question I had. Other than that transmission shifts smooth and truck comes into power nicely.

Fixed an issue that came up later

Rear manifold blind blew the plug out. Emailed Customer Service and got Tyson. Wasn’t able to find me the size information on the plug but did ship a solid blank to replace it.

Eco Diesel

The kit worked out very well and my fuel mileage has gone way up. I’m very happy with the outcome. Tyson was a great help with support from the company and has also sent out some stickers as well.

I couldn’t be happier with this kit. Everything showed up on time, was packaged well, and fit exactly like it should. The install went smoothly, and the truck runs amazing now. It has a lot more power, sounds great, and the throttle response is noticeably better. If you’re on the fence about buying this kit, I’d definitely recommend it. I’d buy from Diesel Dudes again.

2023 6.7 full delete

Everything arrived as ordered. Everything fit and worked. I have a decent understanding of how these things work so I was able to do it myself in my driveway. I will say the instructions could be a little more tailored to the 2023+ models for those that might not have as much knowledge. A labeled plug kit would be nice as well but overall very pleased. For those doing it themselves, make sure you have an extra set of hands for the down pipe and pipe coming off the turbo! Need one guy below and one up top to make sure everything is seated properly. I was able to get the pipes off with my buddy pushing the clamp open from the top while I pulled from the bottom. Lube your hangars and bolts.

I haven’t installed it yet but everything up to this point was smooth as butter. Fast shipping and excellent communications. Can’t wait to put it on.

5in exhaust box was pretty beat up and pipes kinda were too, probably should have returned but figure it’s under truck, two different pieces had to cut little slits at end so would slide into coupler on other piece

Still in process of the transmission 68rfe relearn I’ll see how truck goes after full 200 miles recommend

I bought my kit and installed it two years ago. Rate the experience a 5. Especially support. A month ago my upper automatic transmission gear 5 and 6 failed. I forgot to tell the Trans builder until a week into the build that the truck was tuned and deleted. He panicked. I emailed Jake in Sales and he communicated to Tyson in Tech. It took just a few hours to get back to me. Tyson asked a couple of questions. I believe the next day Jake emailed me a file that Tyson provided to keep trans pressure close to stock. This is TWO YEARS from when I purchased the Delete kit. That gets 6 stars on a 5 star scale. Thanks guys!!
